While in the hospital with baby Alex, John let me know that the Influenster Comfort VoxBox arrived in the mail for me to review. I guess you could say that was the first gift we received for Alex ;)
The Comfort VoxBox included a bag of almond popcorn dipped in milk chocolate FISHER NUT EXACTLY® Snack Bites (plus a coupon), a box of Annie’s star pasta and chicken soup, a packet of Tide Ultra Stain Release Free detergent (plus a coupon), two coupons and two recipe cards for Ragu pasta sauce, and a bottle of Fiber Choice® Immunity Support Fruity Bites.
The biggest star of the Comfort VoxBox was definitely the bag of FISHER NUT EXACTLY® Snack Bites. By the time I got home from the hospital, Monica had almost devoured the whole bag. Good thing there were a few left for me to try!
Would I buy this item?
I probably I wouldn’t have purchased the snack bites if I just saw them in the grocery store, but now that I’ve tried them (and know that Monica likes them), I might pick some up for snack time. Or maybe get the ones dipped in dark chocolate for myself, especially since I have a coupon ;)
My next favorite item was the Annie’s star pasta and chicken soup, though I’m pretty sure they included it in the VoxBox for kids. Considering it’s soup weather, I’m nursing a baby, and I need something easy to eat for lunch; I had no problem snatching it for myself.
Would I buy this item?
Yes! Annie’s has five yummy soup flavors made with organic ingredients, which would make a perfect weekend lunch for Monica. I could see us pairing the creamy tomato and bunny pasta soup with a grilled cheese sandwich. We usually have Annie’s cheddar bunnies in our pantry, so those would also go well with the regular tomato soup. (PS – Annie’s has a $1 off coupon online.)
Since I’ve been doing a boatload of laundry lately, the Tide detergent was a welcome addition in the Comfort VoxBox. The day that I used it, there was watermelon juice and pasta sauce on one of Monica’s white shirts. The packet suggested using the detergent as a pre-treater before washing, so I rubbed it on the stains before washing. The Tide detergent took out the watermelon juice, but there were still some red-orange stains from the pasta sauce.
Would I buy this item?
Maybe. The Tide detergent performed on par with the All Free & Clear detergent I’m currently using. So it’ll depend on which has the better price. I usually treat stains with Shout before washing them and there are times I need to wash Monica’s shirts twice with Shout before the stain comes out (I’m looking at you popsicles!). I treated the pasta stain with Shout after taking the shirt out of the wash and the stain was gone after the second round of washing.
Growing up, Prego was the jarred pasta sauce of choice in our house since it was thicker than Ragu. And if we aren’t making sauce from scratch, I still prefer Prego. So I was curious to see if Ragu had improved over the years. We enjoyed prosciutto tortellini with the Alfredo sauce. After adding a little extra salt and pepper, I was pleasantly surprised by the Alfredo sauce! It was creamy, cheesy, and not overly heavy.
Would I buy this item?
Possibly. Now that we have two kids, this Alfredo sauce would make for a super-fast weeknight meal, particularly as a short cut to Smitten Kitchen’s sweet peas and shells Alfredo. The jury is still out on the traditional tomato sauce since we were planning on making dinner for our neighbors whose kitchen is under construction, but plans changed at the last minute.
I don’t usually have a problem with getting enough fiber in my diet to keep things “regular,” so I’ve never purchased a fiber supplement, let alone one with Vitamin C. The Fiber Choice® Immunity Support Fruity Bites tasted good, but I don’t think they did anything for me.
Would I buy this item?
Nope, I’d rather get my fiber from real food. Plus, I’d rather not have gummies around to tempt Monica even though the lid is child-resistant.
I received these products complimentary for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.
