Orange you glad…

August 2, 2015 By Cathy

Monica loves orange. She has two coral-ish orange shirts she wears on a tight rotation, tends to build houses using only orange Magna-Tiles, wants John to wear orange shirts, and favors orange-colored popsicles. I’m hoping these peach swing dresses from June & January get restocked in either 2T or 3T because I know Monica will gladly wear one all year round.

Fashionista sheets from The Land of Nod

When it came time to think about her new room, including a big bed, I knew the color orange needed to make an appearance. I’d been eyeing these sheets from The Land of Nod for a while now since they’re pink and ORANGE! But I wanted to wait until they went on sale. Fortunately, The Land of Nod has 15% off practically everything until Monday August 3 (use coupon code BUDDY)!

One strategy to help with the transition to a new room and/or big bed is to let your toddler pick out their new sheets. So we took a field trip to The Land of Nod over the weekend to check out sheets. At first, Monica was more interested in the fountain outside of the store, the endless collection of toys, and the yoyo display near the cash register. So I picked out a few (almost a dozen) options for Monica to choose from. Unfortunately, the pink and orange Fashionista line wasn’t available on the floor

Ultimately, Monica chose these orange dino sheets and later ran around the house with them. I also ordered the pink and orange Fashionista sheets, so let’s hope she likes them! We’re still on the fence about the striped Fashionista duvet cover or possibly this pink and orange blanket. It’s still too warm to worry about blankets , so we’ll probably just stick with her aden + anais swaddle blankets for now.

We also picked up a few new pieces of furniture from an estate sale, which you can see a sneak peek of on Instagram. An armoire and short dresser will be in Monica’s new room and two bookshelves are in our backroom flanking the TV. But these room updates will be another story for another time since they’re still very much in process.

How was your weekend?
